Summer Camp 2018

Join us for Strong, Smart and Bold Summer Camp 2018!

Girls Incorporated is pleased to present its Strong, Smart and Bold Summer Camp 2018, filled with weekly themes, tons of activities and lots of fun.

Financial Assistance:

Girls Incorporated of Meriden is dedicated to making programs available to all girls regardless of financial constraints.  All financial assistance inquiries must first meet with the Executive Director prior to registering online.  Please call (203) 235-7146 to schedule an appointment.

All campers must provide a completed Youth Camp Health Exam Form to participate in camp. 


WHAT CAMPERS SHOULD BRING TO CAMP DAILY:
  • Campers must wear sneakers or shoes that are closed back EVERYDAY! No sandals please. Flip flops are only allowed when going to the pool area for swim time.
  • A brown bag lunch. Please don't send in large containers or glass items.
  • A water bottle.
  • A bathing suit (1 piece preferred) and towel.
  • Sunscreen labeled with campers name. We recommend that all campers wear sunscreen throughout the day and re-apply it often.
  • Backpack to hold all items.
  • Change of clothes.
  • Please remember to label everything as we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
WHAT CAMPERS SHOULD LEAVE AT HOME:
  • Cell phones
  • Ipods, Mp3 players, game systems, etc.
  • Toys
  • Jewelry

*Please be advised that Girls Inc. is not responsible for any lost or stolen items that are brought to camp. We encourage girls to leave their valuables at home.

2018 IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

*ALL PAYMENTS ON BALANCES MUST BE PAID DIRECTLY TO:

*ALL CAMPERS MUST HAVE:
  • Current $30.00 non-refundable membership and a completed membership form.
  • Medical form - Medical form is valid for three years from the date of last exam.
  • Completed Liability Waiver.
  • Completed Sun Screen Waiver.
*PAYMENTS:
  • All payments are non-refundable due to the popularity of our Summer Program. Be sure to reserve only the weeks you are sure your child can attend.
  • Nine Weeks - 10% Discount if paid in full for all nine weeks at time of registration.
  • Payment Plans are available:
    • Five (5) monthly payments
    • Ten (10) bi-weekly payments
    • Twenty (20) weekly payments
  • Financial Assistance is available on a case by case basis.
    • A 100% payment of at least one week must be made to hold a reservation and payment plan must be chosen to take care of any remaining balances.
    • Parents must have prior approval from the Executive Director to receive financial assistance.
    • Must submit Girls Inc. financial assistance form and proof of financial need (i.e. latest tax return and four most recent pay stubs, social security benefits or unemployment).
    • All outstanding balances MUST be paid in full.
      Payments MUST be current week to week for a campers slot to be held.
*MEDICATIONS:
  • All prescription medications must be in their original container and marked with the camper's name and brought to the office.
  • All over the counter remedies must be marked with the camper's name and brought to the office.
*ARRIVAL TO CAMP:

Camp Begins at 9:00 a.m.

  • All cars will be met by a Staff Greeter.
    • Child will be checked in as present.
    • Child will be given Unit assignment.
    • Each car will receive a name sign to be placed in the car windshield for easy and efficient pick up at 3:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.
  • All campers will be escorted by a staff member to the Flag pole for opening ceremonies.
  • If you would rather accompany your camper to the flag pole and your child is not registered for extended hours, we suggest parking on Lincoln Street so as not to disrupt the traffic flow within the Girls Inc. driveway.
  • Please stay to the right of the parking lot following the loop.
  • Any camper dropped off after 9:00 a.m. must report to the office and sign-in with a parent.
*DISMISSAL FROM CAMP:

Camp Ends at 3:00 p.m.

  • Please have Child's Name Sign prominently displayed in windshield prior to pick up.
  • Please stay to the right of the parking lot following the loop.
  • Your child will be waiting for you at the designated pick up point and will be released upon recognition of the Child's Name Sign.
  • Staff will assist each child into their designated cars.
  • Stay to the right for a safe and efficient departure of Girls Inc. property.
  • Pick up is NO LATER than 3 p.m., anything after that will constitute a one-time warning and then late fees will be given thereafter.
*EXTENDED CAMP HOURS:

AM/PM Extended Hours is defined as ANY time before 9:00 a.m. arrival or ANY time after 3:00 p.m. dismissal with the absence of parent or guardian.

  • AM Extended (7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.)
    • All cars will be met by a Staff Greeter as early as 7:30 a.m.
    • All campers will be escorted by a staff member to the living room.
    • At 9 a.m., all campers will then be escorted to the front lawn to meet with their unit for opening ceremonies.
  • PM Extended (3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.)
    • All PM Extended will be met by our Staff Greeter, once the normal camp day has ended at 3 p.m.
    • Please have Child's Name Sign prominently displayed in windshield prior to pick up.
    • Please stay to the right of the parking lot following the loop.
    • Your child will be waiting for you at the designated pick up point.
    • Stay to the right for a safe and efficient departure of Girls Inc. property.
    • Pick up is NO LATER than 5:30 p.m., anything after that will constitute a one-time warning and then late fees will be given thereafter.

***Last Day of Camp is August 17, 2018. Camp hours are 1:00 p.m. � 7:00 p.m. There is no before or after care that day.
